Vazul Hites on Life at McDonald's: Flipping Burgers, Dreaming of AI Agents

The work was manual, repetitive and draining. So after every shift, Vazul went home and taught himself AI.

Before he co-founded Wacky Weedeating, Vazul Hites worked at McDonald's. In a recent interview, he looked back on that job, why it didn't work out, and how it pointed him toward AI.

A Lot of Work, All of It Manual

Vazul describes McDonald's as a lot of work, and nearly all of it was manual. The same tasks repeated shift after shift, with no tools to take any of the load off.

He says he kept wishing he had an AI agent to optimize the work. The gap between how the job was done and how he thought it could be done wore him down.

Why His Performance Slipped

That frustration is one of the reasons Vazul lost motivation, and his performance suffered. He was eventually fired for doing a bad job. Looking back, he connects the two directly: repetitive manual work with no room to improve it left him disengaged.

Learning AI After Every Shift

What his managers didn't see was what happened after he clocked out. Vazul would come home and teach himself all kinds of AI tricks.

Even at work, his mind was elsewhere. While flipping burgers, he imagined one day flipping AI agents the same way.

From Burgers to Business

That habit of learning and building carried into what came next. Vazul went on to co-found Wacky Weedeating and built the company's website himself.
